Described by Dochnahl in Führung durch die Obstkunde (vol. 2, p. 245, 1856). A German pear variety; no further origin details are recorded by Hedrick.

Fruit

Size: Small.

Form: Short, obtuse, ventriculous (swollen or belly-shaped).

Skin: Smooth and tender; lemon-yellow with a soft, rosy blush.

Flesh & Flavor: Granular, semi-melting, sweet, with an aroma of cinnamon.

Season & Uses

July and August. Rated first quality for dessert use.
