Raised by Léon Leclerc in Laval, Mayenne, France. The variety first bore fruit in 1849.

Fruit

Size and Form Medium-sized, conic-cylindrical. The fruit is often irregular in form and bossed (having rounded, swollen protuberances on the surface).

Skin Pale yellow, dotted, streaked, and veined with russet.

Flesh White, fine, semi-melting.

Quality Second-class (rated as a secondary-quality pear).

Season

Matures in February.
