Origin and History
American Forestier was received in the United States from France in 1949, catalogued as USDA Plant Introduction No. 173978. The variety is held at the U.S. Plant Introduction Station, Glenn Dale, Maryland. It was subsequently distributed to the Agricultural Experiment Station, Department of Pomology, Geneva, New York, which received its material from Glenn Dale.
