Origin and History

Origin on the Andrews farm, Berlin, Vt. The original tree is said to be seventy years old, healthy, vigorous, spreading and irregular. It is a good bearer annually of handsome fruit, and of good quality.

Fruit

Size and Form: Medium; roundish, inclining to oblong, slightly angular.

Skin: Whitish, shaded and mottled with light red, with stripes and broken splashes of dark red or crimson, and many light dots, some being areole.

Stem (Stalk): Short, small.

Cavity: Small; sometimes slight russet.

Calyx: Small, closed.

Basin: Medium, corrugated.

Flesh and Flavor: White, half fine, tender, juicy, pleasant subacid. Quality: very good.

Core and Seeds: Large and open.
