Size and Form: Medium. The two sources disagree on form: Downing describes the fruit as oblate; Elliott describes it as roundish conical and slightly angular.

Stem: Slender. Downing adds that it is short.

Cavity: Medium depth, a little russeted (Elliott). Downing describes the cavity as of moderate depth but does not note russeting.

Calyx: The sources conflict: Downing gives the calyx as closed; Elliott describes it as large and open. Calyx segments long, partly recurved (Downing).

Basin: Uneven (Elliott). Not described in Downing.

Skin: Yellowish, marbled, striped, and splashed with bright red.

Flesh/Flavor: White, very tender, juicy, sweet, slightly aromatic. Rated very good (Downing) / excellent (Elliott).

Anglo-American. Raised by W. H. Read, Canada West. Tree vigorous and productive. Fruit medium, oblate, yellowish, marbled, striped and splashed with bright red. Stalk short, rather slender, inserted in a cavity of moderate depth. Calyx closed. Segments long, partly recurved. Flesh white, tender, juicy, sweet, slightly aromatic. Very good. August, September.
