Pear

Origin/History

A very old English pear documented by John Parkinson in his Theatrum Botanicum (1629, page 593). Parkinson describes it as "most plentiful in Suffolke, and there commended to be a verie good peare." The variety appears to have been well-established in Suffolk, England by the early seventeenth century.
