Origin/History Originated with G. Bergner, near Hermann, Missouri.

Tree A rapid grower with strong branches, somewhat drooping in habit. Hardy and an abundant bearer.

Fruit

Form and Size Large, roundish oblate.

Skin and Color Rich yellow ground color, mostly covered, striped and splashed with shades of maroon red. Yellow gray or russet dots present on the surface.

Stem Short.

Cavity Open, regular, and deep.

Calyx Small and closed.

Basin Abrupt and deep, slightly plaited at the base.

Core Small.

Flesh and Flavor Yellow, crisp, juicy, and sprightly. Aromatic with a quince-like character. Quality rated very good.

Season February to April.

Cavity open, regular, deep. Calyx small, closed. Basin abrupt, deep, slightly plaited at base. Core small. Flesh yellow, crisp, juicy, sprightly, aromatic, quince-like. Very good. February to April.
