Originated with Lindsay F. Thomas near Portsmouth, Ohio. Much esteemed in the neighborhood of its origin.

Vigorous and rather spreading in growth habit. An early and good bearer, producing fruit annually.
Fruit
Size and Form
Medium to large, oblate in shape, slightly angular, sometimes a little oblique.
Skin and Surface
Pale yellow ground color, somewhat waxen in appearance, with a shade of pale red where exposed to the sun. A few grayish dots scattered on the surface.
Stalk and Cavity
Stalk short and rather small. Cavity large and deep, often slightly russeted.
Calyx and Basin
Calyx large and open. Basin large, broad, and deep, with slight corrugation.
Flesh and Flavor
White flesh, a little coarse in texture, tender and juicy. Flavor pleasant subacid.
Core
Small.
Season
October through January. The fruit appears in October and stores until January.
