Cestra Belfler Kitaika is documented in the United States as USDA Plant Introduction No. 107204. The variety was received at the Agricultural Experiment Station of the University of Maine in Orono, Maine, from Glenn Dale, Maryland. It was subsequently distributed to the Agricultural Experiment Station of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
