Flesh and Flavor: Inclined to yellow, of a sprightly and agreeable taste. Somewhat resembles the Pearmain in appearance.

This is a small apple imported from France: the form is rather oblong, with deep furrows about the crown, which is a little diminished: the stem is long and deeply planted: the skin is a dull red, dark towards the sun, with fawn coloured spots sunk in the skin; the flesh is inclined to yellow, of a sprightly and agreeable taste: it somewhat resembles the Pearmain in appearance, and keeps well through the winter: the tree is rigorous, spreading, handsome, and fruitful.
