Desiree Van Mons.

One of Van Mons' seedlings, originated in 1836. Fruit medium to large, obtuse pyriform. Skin dull greenish, with a few traces and patches of russet, especially around the stalk, minute marblings and dots of black. Stalk slender, curved, set in a very slight depression. Flesh white, half melting, juicy, sweet, perfumed. Good. September, October.
