Raised by M. Norbert Bouzin of Ramegnies-Chin near Tournai, Belgium. First recorded in Gardeners' Chronicle (N.S. 20:85, 1883).

Fruit

Size and Form: Large; turbinate in shape, very symmetrically formed.

Skin: Olive-brown, heavily russeted.

Flesh and Flavor: Fine-textured, buttery, with a vinous character.

Season: October and November.
