A posthumous variety derived from the seedlings of Van Mons at Geest-Saint-Rémy, introduced in 1853.

Fruit

Size and Form: Below medium; turbinate in form, generally obtuse.

Color and Surface: Greenish-yellow ground color, very much mottled with dirty or dusky brown. Much speckled with bronze-russet on the side next the sun; some traces of crimson streaks present.

Flesh and Flavor: Yellowish in color; fine-textured, melting, juicy, sugary, slightly perfumed.

Quality Rating: Second class.
