A seedling discovered on the estate of M. Panneton, Coteau, Maine-et-Loire, France. Documented in Leroy's Dictionnaire de Pomologie (1869) and referenced in the Horticulturist (1875).

Fruit

Size and Form Medium; variable in form, oblong-pyriform or globular-turbinate.

Skin Dull greenish-yellow, dotted with russet.

Flesh and Flavor White, melting, buttery, fine-grained, juicy, sweet, rich, aromatic. Rated as good to first quality.

Season

August.
