Of Russian origin. Planted at the Central Experimental Farm, Agassiz, British Columbia in spring 1895. Described by N.E. Hansen in his 1902 A Study of Northwestern Apples.

Size: Medium.

Form: Oblong, regular, truncated.

Stem: Short.

Cavity: Regular, russeted, acute.

Calyx: Closed.

Basin: Deep, abrupt, regular.

Skin: Surface yellow, with broken stripes and splashes of red. Dots few, obscure, whitish.

Flesh/Flavor: Flesh white, fine grained, sweet. Quality rated very good.

Core/Seeds: Core closed. Seeds packed compactly in cells.
