Origin and History

Goldo is a cross of Duchess × Grimes Golden. The variety was received from the Agricultural Experiment Station, Department of Pomology, Geneva, New York, in 1927 from the Agricultural Experiment Station (AES) in Brookings, South Dakota. It was also received from Plumfield Nurseries in Fremont, Nebraska (station number A33415), and reported by the U.S. Horticultural Field Station, P.O. Box 1250, Cheyenne, Wyoming.
