A seedling of Van Mons, raised in 1852. First described in Dochnahl's Fuhr. Obstkunde 2:159 (1856).
Fruit
Size: Small.
Form: Turbinate-ventriculous (pear-shaped with a central bulge); sides unequal.
Skin: Green, turning to yellowish; blushed on the sunny side with brown.
Flesh: Yellowish-white, fine, semi-melting.
Quality: Second for the table, first for the kitchen.
Season
September and October.
Uses
Better suited to kitchen use (cooking) than to table consumption, though serviceable for the latter.
