Origin and History
Hereford Redstreak originated in England. The variety was introduced to the United States through the USDA Plant Introduction program in two separate accessions:
PI No. 175543: Received from England in 1949. Specimens are held at the U.S. Plant Introduction Station, Glenn Dale, Maryland; the Agricultural Experiment Station, University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri; and the Agricultural Experiment Station, Department of Pomology, Geneva, New York.
PI No. 199416: Received from England in 1952. Held at the U.S. Plant Introduction Station, Glenn Dale, Maryland.
