Origin and History
Imperial Red was received by the USDA from May Nursery Company in Yakima, Washington. The variety was reported by the Agricultural Experiment Station at Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas, and subsequently by the Agricultural Experiment Station at Oregon State University, Corvallis, Oregon, which also received stock from May Nursery Company in 1958.
