Much grown and esteemed in some parts of Kentucky. Specimens received in April after lying in a warehouse during winter were found in fine condition, indicating good storage potential.

Form and Size: Medium to large, roundish conical.
Skin: Dull red on yellow ground, splashed.
Stem: Slender.
Cavity: Moderate.
Calyx: Small, partially closed.
Basin: Open.
Flesh and Flavor: Yellowish white, tender, juicy, sub-acid. Quality almost "best."
Core and Seeds: Core compact; seeds light brown.
Season / Storage
October to March. Keeps well in warehouse storage conditions.
