Origin and History

Lakeland is an open pollinated seedling of Malinda. The first accession was received from the AES Fruit Breeding Farm in Excelsior, Minnesota. A second accession was received from Andrews Nursery in Faribault, Minnesota.

Tree

The tree is an annual bearer and non-clustering. It is hardy.

Fruit

Size and Form: Medium-large.

Skin: All red with darker red stripes.

Quality: Good.

Season

Mid-September.
