Raised by Messrs. Baltet of Troyes, France, from seed of the Pierre Tourasse. The variety was much noticed at the International Exhibition at Paris in 1900.

Fruit
Size and Form: Large, turbinate (pear-shaped), bossed (with irregular bumps or protuberances).
Skin: Tender yellow clouded with ochre, washed with rosy gray and salmon on the side next the sun, with speckles of fawn.
Flesh and Flavor: Fine, melting, very juicy, saccharine. Flavor recalls that of the Duchesse d'Angoulême, with perfume noticeable on the skin.
