Oligher
AppleOrigin/History Oligher designates a group of seedling selections. Oligher No. 16 is identified as the Humes seedling, as described by J. S. Harris in the Minnesota Horticultural Society Report, 1902, p. 260. The Campbell seedlings are also designated as Olighers. According to S. D. Richardson of Winnebago City, Minnesota, multiple numbered selections including Nos. 2, 6, and 8 were in propagation, as noted in his contribution to N.E. Hansen's "A Study of Northwestern Apples" (1902).
Tree Oligher No. 2 exhibits exceptional hardiness. Its leaf and wood closely resemble the Duchess variety.
