Origin and History

Originated on the farm of Davis Jumper, Dexter, Me.

Tree

Hardy, healthy, and vigorous, forming a wide, rather low-spreading head. Bears large crops on alternate years, with a light one intervening.

Fruit

Size and Form: Large, roundish oblate, slightly conical, nearly regular; some specimens angular.

Skin: Smooth, deep yellow at maturity, a shade of pale brownish red where exposed. Moderately sprinkled with gray dots and sometimes nettings of russet.

Stem: Short to medium, slender.

Cavity: Rather large, russetted.

Calyx: Open.

Basin: Rather large, deep, slightly corrugated.

Flesh and Flavor: Pale whitish yellow, half fine and half tender. Moderately juicy, subacid, slightly aromatic, and of good quality.

Core: Medium.

Season

Ripens from the middle of October to the middle of November.

Uses

Culinary and market.
