Origin and History Nassau, Germany, 1805. First documented in Dochnahl's Fuhr. Obstkunde 2:49 (1856).

Fruit

Size and Form: Medium; obtuse-long-conic.

Skin: Yellowish light green initially, developing a dark red blush that changes to light lemon-yellow with carmine cheek. Surface mottled and flecked with brown-russet.

Flesh and Flavor: Semi-melting, granular, and gritty near the core. Very sweet with vinous and acidulous character.

Season August.

Uses and Quality Second quality for the table; very good for kitchen and market use.
