The variety was received by the Agricultural Research Service Irrigation Experiment Station in Prosser, Washington from James B. Ryan of Wapato, Washington, where it is described as a limb sport on a Starking. A second accession is maintained at the Agricultural Experiment Station, Purdue University, Lafayette, Indiana, with no recorded receipt source. A third accession was received from Morrison & Sons, Zillah, Washington.
