Saint Germain Panache

Origin and History

A variegated sport of the Saint Germain pear, of French origin. First published circa 1819.

Note: The available historical source provides only the distinguishing variegation characteristic. For complete identification details (fruit size, form, cavity and calyx structure, basin form, flesh color and flavor, core and seeds, ripening season, and storage behavior), refer to the parent Saint Germain variety description, keeping in mind that the variegation is the primary feature that visually differentiates this sport from the standard form.
