Nassau, Germany. First documented in Dochnahl's Fuhr. Obstkunde (1856), with reference to an 1805 publication.

Fruit

Size: Very small.

Form: Turbinate or blunt-conic.

Skin: Grass-green, turning to yellow-green. Often with dark red blush. Brown dots changing to green. Light brown-russet markings.

Flesh & Flavor: Fine-grained. Sweet, cinnamon flavor. Breaking (tender) and juicy.

Season

End of September to beginning of October. Keeps for five to six weeks.

Uses

Third quality for dessert. Very good for household use.

Nassau, Ger., published in 1805. Fruit very small, turbinate, or blunt-conic, grass-green turning to yellow-green, often with dark red blush and having brown dots changing to green, light brown-russet markings; flesh fine-grained, with sweet, cinnamon flavor, breaking and juicy; third for dessert, very good for household; end of Sept. to beginning of Oct. for five to six weeks.
