This variety was grown from seed by M. Lagrange, a nurseryman of Lyons, France, in 1861. Reference: Pomologie de la France 4:No. 169, Pl. 169 (1867).

Pyramidal form, rather vigorous, productive.

Fruit

Rather large, obovate in shape. Skin pale yellow with a rosy tint on the sunny side. Flesh crisp, juicy, very sweet, and slightly gritty. Quality rated as good.
