Originated on the farm of Thomas Sillix, Manallen Township, Pennsylvania.

Tree

Moderately vigorous, upright, somewhat spreading. Not an early bearer, but very productive in alternate years when the tree has attained some age.

Fruit

Size and Form: Below medium, roundish, regular.

Skin: Pale yellow, shaded with light and dark rich red over half or more of the surface, obscurely splashed and striped, and covered with numerous small light and gray dots.

Stem: Short, small.

Cavity: Small, smooth.

Calyx: Half closed.

Basin: Medium, slightly corrugated.

Flesh and Flavor: Yellow, fine, compact, moderately juicy, mild subacid, almost sweet, quite rich. Quality: very good.

Core: Small.

Season

December to March.
