Fruited by James H. Grain of Undulation, Pulaski County, Illinois, on trees received from J. W. Felt & Co., Crystal Springs, Mississippi. Special origin unknown, but believed to be southern.
Tree
Vigorous, upright, and productive. Shoots stout.
Fruit
Size and Form: Full medium to large, oblong, conic, regular, handsome.
Skin: Greenish-yellow. Dots numerous, rather large, gray and rough.
Stem: Medium to long.
Cavity: Deep, acute, regular, green.
Basin: Shallow, small, regular.
Calyx/Eye: Very small, closed.
Core and Seeds: Core medium, oval, closed, meeting the eye. Seeds numerous, plump.
Flesh and Flavor: Flesh yellow, breaking, fine-grained, juicy. Flavor sub-acid, rich, very aromatic.
Season
December and January.
Uses
Dessert, especially.
