The Willis's Russet originated on the farm of Mr. Willis in Sudbury, Massachusetts.

Size and Form: Small, oblate conic.

Color and Surface: Russet on a yellow ground, occasionally with a sunny cheek.

Stem (Stalk): Long, slender, curved; set in a large cavity.

Calyx: Closed.

Basin: Shallow.

Flesh and Flavor: Tender and juicy, with a rich pear-like flavor. Quality rated Very good.

Season and Storage

Ripens in December and January.
