Before any brush is cut, we record what each orchard looks like now. On September 28, 2026 we walked the Cyrus Barn, Cyrus, and Cyrus Horse Camp orchards and took 85 photographs, recording the camera position and compass direction of each shot. We will come back to the same points and directions each growing season for three years after the work is done, so the change can be seen side by side. The McCoin orchards will be photographed the same way before their treatment begins.
How to read the map: each marker is a place a photo was taken, and the colored wedge shows the direction the camera was facing. Click a marker or a thumbnail to open the full photo, then use the arrows to step through that orchard in the order the photos were taken.
Satellite imagery: Esri, Maxar, Earthstar Geographics, and the GIS User Community. Street map: OpenStreetMap contributors. Photo positions from phone GPS, typically within a few meters.
