A very large pear that has been bearing regularly near Oak Ridge, Guilford County, North Carolina for more than 40 years. First recorded in the J. Van Lindley Nursery catalog in 1899.

Fruit

Very large. In appearance resembles both Bartlett and Duchesse d'Angouleme. Size equals Duchesse d'Angouleme.

Season

Ripens between Bartlett and Duchesse d'Angouleme.

Quality & Uses

Of good quality and better in quality than Duchesse. Described as a very valuable pear.
