Felix Sahut was raised by Arsene Sannier from a cross of Passe Colmar with Bartlett. It was new in 1902, when it was recorded in the Revue Horticole, page 151. The American Pomological Society report of 1920, page 135, also cites the variety. U.P. Hedrick included it in The Pears of New York (1921).
