Origin and History

Kaiser originated in Southeastern Ohio. The variety was first published under the alternate name "Red Seek-no-further."

Growth habit resembles that of the Rambo variety.

Size and Form: Medium, roundish-oblate, often slightly oblique.

Skin: Shaded and obscurely striped with red on a greenish-yellow ground. Small specimens are smooth and regular, free from ribs.

Cavity: Large in typical specimens; small specimens have a small cavity.

Basin: Shallow, sometimes deep, furrowed.

Flesh and Flavor: Fine-grained, mild sub-acid, slightly aromatic, with a very good flavor.

Kaiser. (Red Seek-no-further.) Size medium, roundish-oblate, often slightly oblique; shaded and obscurely striped with red on greenish yellow; stalk short, cavity large; basin shallow, sometimes deep, furrowed; flesh fine-grained, mild sub-acid, slightly aromatic, with a very good flavor.
