An old French pear, originated circa 1740.

Fruit

Size & Form: Very large; roundish oval shape.

Skin: Dull green, becoming dull brown in the sun. Surface bears numerous conspicuous large gray dots.

Stem: Stout.

Calyx: Segments reflexed.

Flesh: Greenish white, fine-grained, melting, juicy. Flavor vinous and perfumed.

Season

October.
