Origin and History
Schroeder (Tuttle's Charlamoff; the upright Charlamoff) was received from Russia under the name Charlamoff, but the tree exhibits an upright habit and fruit distinctly different from the original Charlamoff variety. The Russian Nomenclature Commission assigned the name "Schroeder (Tuttle's Charlamoff; the upright Charlamoff)" in 1898.

Size and Form: Large, roundish oblate, flattened at ends, regular in shape.
Surface and Color: Handsomely colored, much like Oldenburg. Splashes broad, bright, and distinctly defined. Dots obscure, gray, few, and very minute.
Cavity: Deep, wide, and regular, lined with much stellate russet.
Stem: Short.
Basin: Medium in size, somewhat corrugated and minutely wrinkled.
Calyx: Open.
Core and Seeds: Core half open. Cells round or roundish ovate, entire. Tube long, wide, funnel-shaped, and open to core. Stamens marginal. Seeds short and plump.
Flesh: White, juicy, acid, with good flavor.

Core half open; cells round or roundish ovate, entire; tube long, wide, funnel-shaped, open to core; stamens marginal; seeds short, plump; flesh white, juicy, acid, good. September.
