Origin unknown. Also known as Powell's Virgalieu (Downing). Referenced in Downing's Fruits and Fruit Trees of America (1869) and Mas's Pomologie Générale (1:5, fig. 3, 1872).

Flesh/Flavor: Yellowish, juicy, melting, slightly vinous. Quality: good.
