Raised by R. Moore of Southington, Connecticut. First described by A.J. Downing in The Fruits and Fruit Trees of America (1900 revision).

Tree Characteristics

Very productive bearer.

Fruit Description

Size & Form:
Medium, globular, inclining to oblong or conic.

Skin:
Greenish yellow, sometimes with a slight blush.

Flesh:
White, juicy, and tender.

Flavor:
Brisk, vinous flavor.

Quality:
Good.

Season & Storage

December through March — a winter-keeping variety suitable for extended storage.

Moore's Greening.

Raised by R. Moore, of Southington, Conn. Very productive. Fruit medium, globular, inclining to oblong or conic, greenish yellow, sometimes with a slight blush. Flesh white, juicy, tender, with a brisk, vinous flavor. Good. December, March.
