NO. 132. LARGE GREENING.

This apple I received as the Rhode-Island Greening, which is a superior apple: it is cultivated in Bucks county, Pennsylvania; is a large and uncommonly flat apple; the skin a smooth, lively green; the flesh is white, juicy, and tender, but not highly flavoured—it is an early winter fruit; the tree handsomely formed, and very tall.
