Originated with Eli Fox, near Coshocton, Ohio.

Strong, vigorous, upright, rather spreading; an abundant bearer, esteemed as an amateur fruit.

Fruit

  • Size: Medium to large.
  • Form: Oblate to roundish oblate, slightly conical, angular, or slightly ribbed.
  • Skin: Whitish, nearly covered with light and dark red, striped and splashed rather obscurely with a darker hue, with many light dots.
  • Flesh: White, a little coarse, tender, and juicy.
  • Flavor: Pleasant subacid, slightly aromatic and rich.
  • Core: Rather large.
