Form: Obovate, obtuse pyriform; slightly pyriform (Thomas). Largest in the middle and tapering each way (Downing).

Skin: Dull green, becoming yellowish green; pale yellowish green (Downing).

Dots: Small, brownish green.

Flesh and flavor: Flesh white, buttery, juicy, sweet, sugary, pleasant. Fine-grained (Downing, Thomas); "not fine-grained" (Elliott). Downing rates it "Good." Elliott: rarely more than "good" on pear roots, sometimes nearly "best" on Quince.

Foreign. Tree, thrifty, hardy, good bearer, rarely more than "good" on pear roots, sometimes nearly "best" on Quince. Fruit, medium, obovate obtuse pyriform, dull green, becoming yellowish green, with brownish green dots; stem, short, thick; calyx, medium, long segments, furrowed basin, large core : flesh, white, not fine-grained, buttery, juicy, sweet. September.

The origin of this Pear is unknown. Fruit of medium size, obovate, but largest in the middle, and tapering each way. Skin pale yellowish green, dotted with small brownish green dots. Flesh white, fine-grained, buttery, sugary. Good. Ripe early in September.
